This is the largest airport in Switzerland and a hub for Swiss Air. It is eight miles north of the city and connects well with the whole country. It served 29 million passengers in 2023 and its website can be found here www.flughafen-zuerich.ch/en/

Parking 

There are a range of choices at the airport.


P1 - directly connected to Terminal 1, CHF2 for fifteen minutes, maximum CHF56 for 24 hours

P2 - directly connected to Terminal 2, CHF2 for fifteen minutes, maximum CHF56 for 24 hours

P3 - directly connected to Check-in 3, close to shopping areas, CHF2 for fifteen minutes, maximum CHF56 for 24 hours

P4 - aimed at shoppers, CHF2 for fifteen minutes, maximum CHF56 for 24 hours

P6 - four-minute walk to the terminals, CHF2 for fifteen minutes, maximum CHF56 for 24 hours

P60 - pre-book only, economy longer-stay option, public bus 0515-0030 at stop Zurich Flughafen Werft, fifteen minute walk to the terminal

P65 - prebook only, economy longer stay option, free shuttle bus 0415-0000 stop next to exit

Valet - available at Check-in 1 (via Valet Parking) and P3 (via Airport Parking or Sprenger Autobahnhof)

Drop Off 

For drop-off, at Check-in 1 and 2, there is free parking for five minutes at Departures then a charge of CHF1 per minute. Any longer stays should utilise P1 or P2 (depending on Terminal).


For drop-off at Check-in 3 you should use P3.


For pick-up, at Arrival 1 and 2, there is a charge of CHF4 for five minutes then a charge of CHF2 per five minutes. Any longer stays should utilise P1 or P2 (depending on Terminal).


Security 


Fast track is available as part of a lounge package.

The airport has a large shopping area open to all and offers discounted parking for shopping only. Note that there are Duty Free shops in Arrivals as well as Reserve & Collect, and Collect on Return.

Shuttles

Hotel shuttles pick up at the inner curbside of Arrival 2 and should be offered for all the hotels listed that are off-site.


Immigration

Taxis

Taxis can be found along the inner curbside lanes of Arrival 1 and 2.


It costs about CHF50 to the city centre, with a possible surcharge for lots of luggage. For returning to the airport, if you book using the airport taxi app you receive a 50% discount.


Buses and Coaches 

The main bus route to the city is line 183. It takes fifteen minutes.

Tickets for all transport services can be bought at

  • SBB Ticket Machines, in Check-in 3

  • SBB Travel Centre/SBB ticket counter/Service Center in Airport Shopping

  • Switzerlandinfo+ shop in Arrival 2.


Rail and Trams 

There is a station at the airport. Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) run the service to Zurich city centre via S-Bahn lines S2 and S16, with trains departing every ten minutes. It takes fifteen minutes to the main station in Zurich. A single is CHF6.80. The service runs from 0500-0000 from the airport and the first train to the airport is at 0445.

  • Swiss Air Rail - combination flight and rail ticket via one booking

  • Railtour Suisse - combines hotel accommodation with train tickets to the airport

  • Swiss Federal Railways - connections to the rest of Switzerland

  • Zurich Transport Network - umbrella association for thirty transport companies


There is also a tram station at the airport. Line 10 takes thirty -five minutes to the main station.
