Vienna is the capital of Austria and the airport is about eleven miles southeast of the city. The country has a fairly central location in Europe so sees a network of European destinations alongside long-haul options. It served 29 million passengers in 2023 and its website can be found here www.viennaairport.com/

Parking 

There are a range of choices at the airport.


Car Park 3 - for departures from Terminal 1/1A, €5.20 per hour Car Park 4 - for departures from Terminal 3, €5.20 per hour

Parking Space A - five-minute walk to the Terminals (along Car Park 4 or underground), €4.50 per hour, Easy Parking valet service available

Parking Space C - ten-minute walk to the Terminals (mostly underground), €4.40 per hour

Short-term K3 - close to the exit of arrivals, aimed at pick-up (no online booking), €5.50 per hour

Terminal Approach Departure - aimed at drop-off, ten minutes free then €2.90 per fifteen minutes

VIP Terminal - next to the VIP Terminal, €5.40 per hour as part of a VIP package



Drop Off 

The Short-term K3 car park is aimed at pick-up (€5.50 per hour). There is also the Terminal Approach Departure car park aimed at drop-off, with ten minutes free and then €2.90 per fifteen minutes.


Security

Fast track is available for €11.


Although more part of check-in, there is a city centre bag drop option at Wien Mitte station. Times and availability vary according to the airline.

Note, if you spend €30 at Wolfgang Puck Kitchen you qualify for two hours free parking (and do not need to be flying).

Lounges

There are a couple of lounges open to all.


Terminal 1 - Vienna lounge, level 2 in front of passport control (close to gates C and D, shuttle required from gates F and G), 0430-2200, €55

Terminal 3 - Sky lounge, level 2 in front of passport control (close to gates F and G, shuttle required from gates C and D), €44


There are also two Austrian/Star Alliance lounges in Terminal 3.


Assistance

Immigration

Taxis

All passengers are advised to use the ranks in front of arrivals or the City Transfer desk in the arrivals hall. They specifically warn against being approached by unlicensed taxis.


Four companies are noted by the airport - Airport Driver, ATS Airport Transfer Service, Flughafentaxi, and 40100.


Buses and Coaches 

There are regional and international routes via the airport.


Vienna Airport Lines - Wien and Morzinplatz in twenty minutes, Wien Donauzentrum in forty minutes, Wien Westbahnhof via Hauptbahnhof in forty minutes

Air Liner - Wien Erdberg in fifteen minutes

Dr. Richard/Flixbus - Graz via Pinggau in two hours forty minutes

Postbus - Munchendorf in fifty minutes, Ebreichsdorf in seventy-five minutes


Flixbus are the main company for international routes and you will also find services from Regiojet, Gepard and Nomago.


Rail and Trams 

There is a direct train into the city to Wien Mitte station. This runs to the airport 0537-2307, every thirty minutes, and from the airport 0608-2338, every thirty minutes. Journey time is sixteen minutes with a single €14.90, return €24.90. Tickets online (see link below) or via the CAT counter.

Terminal Transfer

There is a free transfer shuttle bus between the terminals. It runs every ten minutes 0530-2330 and takes about four minutes.


The shuttle stops are as follows.


Terminal 1 - after Relay, take the escalator down one level (follow signs for gates F and G)

Terminal 3 - after Jamie Oliver's Bar turn left and go down one level (follow signs for gates C & D)


Car Hire

The following companies are available.


Alamo, Avis, Bookbinder, Budget, Dryyve, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Megadrive, National, Payless, Sicily by Car, Sixt, Thrifty, Wheego


The companies can be found at the Car Rental Counter in car park P4 level 0. This can be reached via an underground tunnel.
