UK Election Manifesto - Green

Airport Guy is politically neutral - we have no opinion on the merits of political parties and our sole focus is to provide information.

We are UK based so have taken more of an interest in the forthcoming UK General Election than those in other countries so thought we would summarise any air travel related elements we have found in the various manifestoes. Aviation is the fastest-growing source of CO2 emissions, and it’s the wealthiest driving this trend.

Green MPs will push for:

• A frequent-flyer levy.

• A ban on domestic flights for journeys that would take less than three hours by train.

• A halt to the expansion of new airport capacity.
