SIN - Singapore Changi

The airport is fifteen miles to the east of the main city and as well as serving that city, it also operates as a large hub for the region with over one hundred airlines using the site. It saw 59 million passengers in 2023 and its website is www.changiairport.com/

Parking

There are five car parks at the airport, one for each terminal and one in between Terminal 2 and Jet Quay.

There are two options in each area.

Park and Fly - aimed at stays over 24 hours, S$40 for 24 hours, S$0.65 per fifteen minutes

Park and Work - aimed at day parking (principally for staff), S$80 for five fourteen-hour coupons

Drop Off

All of the terminal car parks offer a ten-minute free drop-off period, then charge S$0.65 for fifteen minutes

It is noted that Security is at the boarding gates for Terminals 1, 2, and 3 and just after immigration for Terminal 4.

Assistance

The airport recommends that you make contact with your airline or tour operator 48 hours before travel. Hotels

There are three transit hotels at the airport.

Aerotel - Terminal 1 Level 3 Departure Lounge (Near D Gates) Ambassador Transit Hotel - Terminal 2 Level 3 Departure Lounge (Central)

Ambassador Transit Hotel - Terminal 3 Level 3 Departure Lounge (Central)

There is also a Jet Quay sleeping suite available, as well as a Yotelair for very short stays.

There is also a hotel on-site.

Crowne Plaza - Terminal 3, close to all terminals, and Jewel, and near the MRT metro.

Shuttles

There is a paid shuttle that heads to most Downtown hotels. It departs every hour, 0700-2300, and costs S$10. Details can be found at the Ground Transport Concierges in Arrivals.

There is a free shuttle for Changi Rewards members that heads from Terminal 3 to Changi Business Park. It runs 1130-1430 Monday to Friday.

There is a paid shuttle that heads to the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. It runs from 1200-1900, and costs S$4. The airport stops are at Terminal 1 and Terminal 4, and specifically at the Ground Transport Concierge counters.

Immigration

In the reclaim area check the boards for which carousel you need to attend. Should luggage go astray you can visit the service desk where you can complete a PIR (Property Irregularity Report).

There are various buses available.

Terminals 1, 2 and 3 - 24, 27, 34, 36, 53, 110, and 858

Payment can be made by contactless, Singapore Tourist Pass, EZ Link cards (bought at the station) or exact cash fare.

There is also a coach service to Johor Bahru using Transtar Cross Border Services, costing S$11. There are six returns per daily with the first/last departure from the airport at 0815/2115, and first/last departure from Johor Nahru at 0500/1915. The airport stop is at Terminal 1 Arrival Coach Bay Lot B/C.

Rail and Trams

There is a Metro station at the airport - Changi Airport MRT Station CG2.

The airport can be reached by either of the following routes.

• East West line to Tanah Merah MRT (EW4/CG) then transfer - 0520-2350 Mon-Sat, 0547-2350 Sun and holidays.

• Downtown line to Expo MRT (CG1/DT35) then transfer - 0523-2354 Mon-Sat, 0549-2354 Sun and holidays.

Payment can be made by contactless, Singapore Tourist Pass, EZ Link cards (bought at the station).

Terminal Transfer

There is a free service called Skytrain. This connects Terminals 1, 2, and 3. It operates 0430-0130.

Alternatively, you can walk from T1 to T3 within the transit area using the inter-terminal travellators, and from T2 to T3 within the public area using the Mezzanine Level link bridge.

There is another free service, a shuttle bus. This connects with Terminal 4.

Public area

• T1/Jewel to T4, direct 0600-0000, every nine to twenty-six minutes, loop route 0000-0600, every thirty-one minutes, from T1 Departure Central Kerbside

• T2/MRT to T4, direct 0600-0000, every six to twenty-six minutes, loop route 0000-0600, every thirty-one minutes, from T2 Arrival Pick-up Door 1
  

The journey time is ten minutes at the public area and the T4 stops are T4 Arrival Bus Lounge (boarding) and T4 Departure Door 4 (alighting).

Transit Area

24 hours, every thirteen minutes, from T1 Gate C21 to T3 Arrival Immigration Hall A to T4 Transfer Lounge. The journey time is

• T4 to T1 eighteen minutes

• T1 to T3 six minutes

• T3 to T4 twelve minutes

For connecting with Jewel, it is located between Terminals 2 and 3. The Jewel is connected to T1 Arrival Hall, up to a ten-minute walk from T2 via the link bridge at level three (near the MRT station), and up to a ten-minute walk from the Departures Hall (near Crown Plaza) via the link bridge.
