MXP - Milan Malpensa

The airport is thirty miles northwest of the city and forms an airport network in the area with Linate and Bergamo. It is a cargo hub for three airlines, a focus city for Amazon Air, and an operating base for six airlines. On its own, it saw 26 million passengers in 2023. Parking

There are a range of car parks at the airport.


P1 long-term - uncovered, four-minute walk to Terminal 1

P2 Executive, Top Car and Genius - covered, direct access to Terminal 1

P3 Express - uncovered, three-minute walk to Terminal 1

P4 Holiday - uncovered, four-minute walk to Terminal 1 P5 Easy - uncovered, in front of Terminal 2

P6 Smart, and Smart Up - uncovered, close to Terminal 2

P6 Smart Coperto, and Smart Plus - covered, close to Terminal 2


A shuttle bus operates between car parks and both terminals. 0400-0130, every fifteen minutes, 0130-0345, every forty-five minutes. Full details of all stops under Shuttles below.



Drop Off

There are different options for drop-off.


Terminal 1 - Departures Drive on the departures level at Parking P9 (short-stay) or P10 (short-stay)

Terminal 2 - in front of the Terminal building there are two short-stay parking areas (one for arrivals and one for departures)


There are also different options for pick-up.


Terminal 1 - Four short-stay car parks

Terminal 2 - in front of the Terminal building there are two short-stay parking areas (one for arrivals and one for departures)


Charges for all of the above are €3 for up to an hour at Terminal 1, and €3.60 per hour at Terminal 2.

Shuttles

A car park, and terminal, shuttle operates at the airport. 0400-0130, every fifteen minutes, 0130-0345, every forty-five minutes.


Stops are as follows.


P6 Smart - Terminal 2 - P5 Easy - Caserme - Case Nuove - Alitalia - Handling - P4 - Terminal 1 - P1 - Training Centre - Cargo City - Cargo City Sud


Immigration

Reclaim

In the reclaim area check the boards for which carousel you need to attend. Should luggage go astray you can visit the service desk where you can complete a PIR (Property Irregularity Report).

Milano Centrale station to the airport

  • Caronte - 0320-0050, every twenty minutes


Milano Centrale station from the airport

  • Malpensa Bus Express - 0500-0240, every forty-five minutes

  • Malpensa Shuttle - 0520-0120 every thirty minutes

Rail and Trams

There is a station at the airport where you can catch the Malpensa Express. This heads to Milan and has stops at Cadorna, Centrale, Porta Garibaldi and Bovisa.


To the airport from Milan Centrale it runs 0525-2325 every thirty minutes. From the airport it runs to Milan Centrale 0537-2237 every thirty minutes. The direct journey to Milan Centrale takes about fifty-five minutes and costs €13.


It is also possible to take a Tilo S50 train to Switzerland.

This can be found on Floor -1 near the train station for both terminals.
