Fully named as Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas, this five-terminal airport is the hub for Iberia and Air Europa, and amongst its longer routes are South American capital cities. It saw 60 million passengers in 2023 and its website is www.aena.es/en/adolfo-suarez-madrid-barajas.html

Parking
This is organised by terminal, with some services available for more than one terminal.
Terminal 1 - P1 T1 (two minutes walk to the terminal), long stay T1 T2 T3 (free shuttle bus every twenty minutes between 0600-0100, on request 0100-0600), Express T1 (aimed at short visits under thirty minutes), VIP T1 (adjacent to arrivals), low-cost T1 T2 T3 (advanced booking only, free shuttle bus 300 metres away that is every five minutes 0600-2200, every twenty minutes 2200-0600)
Terminal 2 - P1 T2-T3 (two minutes walk from the terminal, office on floor 1), long stay T1 T2 T3 (free shuttle bus every twenty minutes between 0600-0100, on request 0100-0600), Express Arrivals T2 (aimed at short visits under thirty minutes, opposite arrivals), Express Departures T2 (aimed at short visits under thirty minutes), VIP T2 (adjacent to departures), low-cost T1 T2 T3 (advanced booking only, free shuttle bus 300 metres away that is every five minutes 0600-2200, every twenty minutes 2200-0600)
Terminal 4 - P4 T4 (three minutes walk to the terminal), long stay T4 (free shuttle bus every twenty minutes between 0600-0100, on request 0100-0600), priority T4 (within the P4 car park at modules C and D, direct access to the terminal), VIP T4 (adjacent to arrivals)
You will also find specific free areas for motorbikes and bicycles.
Terminal 1 - motorbikes at the back of the P1 car park, bicycles between the taxi lane and private vehicle lane or outside the P1 car park near the VIP parking.
Terminal 2 - motorbikes near the VIP car park, bicycles on the pavement in front of arrivals and opposite the express car park or next to the VIP car park in the Metro area.
Terminal 3 - bicycles next to the entrance on the route towards the T2 arrivals lounge.
Terminal 4 - motorbikes in the Authorities Lane opposite P4 car park modules A and B, bicycles on the arrivals floor near left luggage.

Drop Off
For drop-off you should utilise the various Express car parks already detailed. Rates are not known but are charged per minute.

In the reclaim area check the boards for which carousel you need to attend.

Taxis
All the terminals have taxi ranks and the official taxis are white with a red stripe, with the Madrid City Council coat of arms on the door. There are stops at the airport as follows.
Terminal 1 - Floor 0 Arrivals, Floor 1 Departures

There is a flat rate fare (called Fare 4) that is between the airport and Calle 30 and this should be €33.

There are three types of bus and coach service.
City buses
Line 203 Airport Express, 24 hours, standard fare of €5, calling at Atocha rail station, Cibeles, O'Donnell, T1 Departures, T2 Departures, T4 Arrivals
Line 101, 0605-2345, €1.50, from Canillejas to Barajas and calling at T1 Departures and T2 Departures
Line 200, 0550-2330, €1.50, calling at Avenue de America Interchange, Canillejas, T1 Departures, T2 Departures, T4 Arrivals
Intercity buses
822, towards San Fernando de Henares, calling at T1 Departures, €1.50 or €2 according to zone
824, towards Alcala de Henares, calling at T1 and T2, €1.50 or €2 according to zone
827, from Canillejas to Tres Cantos, calling at T4 Arrivals, €1.50 or €2 according to zone
828, from Canillejas to Universidad Autonoma, calling at T4 Arrivals, €1.50 or €2 according to zone
Long-distance coaches
From T4 (stop is next to car park P4 module F, to multiple cities in Spain.
Rail and Trams
Two regular train lines come into the airport. Both routes are free for passengers with an AVE ticket connecting with a flight.
C1 - from Principe Pio to Terminal 4, €1.70, €1.85 or €2.60 according to zone
C10 - from Villalba to Terminal4, €1.70, €1.85 or €2.60 according to zone
There is also a Metro service.
Line 8 - 0605-0200, from Nuevos Ministerios calling at T1/T2/T3 and T4, €1.50 or €2 according to number of stations plus €3 airport supplement.

Terminal Transfer
It is free to transfer between terminals.
Transit bus T1, T2, T4 - open 24 hours, 0600-2200 every five minutes, 2200-0600 every twenty minutes, from T1 Departures Floor 1 to T2 Departures Floor 2 to T4 Departures Floor 2
Transit Bus T1, T4S - open 24 hours, on request, T1 Floor 0 Baggage Reclaim Hall 1 to Terminal 4 Satellite Floor 0. Boarding card required.
The long-stay stay car park bus can also be used from the car park to T1 Arrivals to T1 Departures to T2 Arrivals to T2 Departures to T3 Arrivals. Open 24 hours, 0600-0100 every twenty minutes, 0100-0600 on request.
The low-cost car park bus can also be used from the car park to Terminal 1 Departures. Open 24 hours, 0600-2200 every five minutes, 2200-0600 every twenty minutes.
Car Hire
There are services at Terminal 1 and Terminal 4.
