Improved connectivity and internal growth makes a Luton a true London airport these days, with 13 million passengers in 2022. Its website is www.london-luton.co.uk/

Parking
Due to a fire in October 2023 Luton still has limited parking options. Users have to pre-book, there is no on the day entry. Car Park 1 is linked to the terminal by a bridge and can be booked here www.london-luton.co.uk/parking
Drop Off
Luton Drop Off is also affected by the fire mentioned above. The nearest Drop Off is currently in the Medium Stay car park and a shuttle bus leaves Bus Bay A, or it's a 10 minute walk to the terminal. You can stay in the car park for free for 30 minutes.
In addition you can use the Long Stay car park for drop off, with a 10 minute shuttle bus to the terminal. You can stay in the car park for free for 1 hour.

Luton recommends travellers contact their tour operator, travel agent or airline at least 48 hours prior to departure so that your details can be passed to the Assistance team. You can find some very detailed information via the following link.
Assistance - www.london-luton.co.uk/special-assistance-landing
Hotels
There are three hotels within walking distance of the terminal.
Ibis London Luton Airport, Holiday Inn Express London Luton Airport and Courtyard by Marriott London Luton Airport.
Quite nearby you will also find Hampton by Hilton London Luton Airport.
Shuttles
There is no shuttle at the airport.
Immigration
For all international travellers you should check entry requirements on the official government site. In this case it is www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration and you will find details on the ETA scheme there too.
Reclaim
Just follow the signs after immigration and you will come to the baggage reclaim area. There are boards that you should check for your flight number, and that will indicate which carousel you need to attend. There are trolleys available in the area.
Customs
There are two channels - green (nothing to declare) and red (items to declare).
Just like immigration you should only rely on the official government information regarding what you can bring into the UK. www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use
Taxis
If picking up/dropping off in the Priority Zone a taxi is subject to a £5 drop off fee and that will be added to the fare. Otherwise taxis can use the Medium Stay car park for free for ten minutes.
Do note that a taxi to (for example) King's Cross in London would take 1 hour 30 minutes upwards so is significantly longer than any rail services.
Buses and Coaches
Local buses are generally low cost and are mainly for journeys in the immediate vicinity. Regular buses do not offer a viable route into London. The bus stands can be found right outside the terminal.
A couple of coach operators can be found at Luton and this can offer direct transport to various towns and cities. Many of these routes use variable pricing so you may find tickets increasing in price as the date approaches. The main routes include
National Express - central London (of note, London Victoria, London Paddington and Baker Street stations) four times an hour, various towns and cities north of London
Greenline - central London (of note, London Victoria, Marble Arch and Baker Street stations) twice an hour
You can find details of National Express below.
Rail and Trams
Luton Airport is served by the nearby Luton Airport Parkway station. This will give direct trains to London St. Pancras, Farringdon, City Thameslink, London Blackfriars and London Bridge, before the train continues on to London Gatwick Airport.
To reach the station you need to use the DART (Direct Air-Rail Transit), an automated shuttle. It is easier to buy a ticket from the airport to your destination rather than separate tickets. The DART runs every 5 minutes 0600-0930 and 1400-1800, every 15 minutes 2200-0400, and every 8 minutes all other times.
When buying your tickets the DART element is fixed price. The route into London is an Anytime fare with Thameslink, for example £23.30 to St. Pancras. There is also a variable price Advance fare with East Midlands to St. Pancras only that can be cheaper if bought well advance (as low as £7.80). If you do buy the latter then it would be for a specific train and time only.
For any rail bookings, we recommend Trainline. Just click the logo below.
