This compact airport in the Docklands sees small to medium aircraft heading to a range of European destinations, with 3.5 million passengers in 2023. Its website is www.londoncityairport.com/

Parking

London City has a car park fairly near to the terminal for short stay and long stay.  They also offer a valet option.  The main car park offers great discounts for early booking.  Full details can be found here www.londoncityairport.com/parking

Drop Off

Drop off is available right outside the terminal without charge but cars cannot be left unattended.  Should you need to do so, or are picking up, you should head for the short stay car park.  Prices there are £4.50 for 0-10 minutes, £9.50 for 10-20 minutes.

Shops

There are a few shops at London City.  You will find Aelia Duty Free, Boots, InMotion, WH Smith and Currency Exchange.  There is also an AeroSpa.

Lounges

None within the airport.  There are lounge facilities in the adjacent Private Jet Centre.  These are priced from £95 and would require you to return to the main terminal prior to your flight.

Assistance

London City recommends travellers contact their tour operator, travel agent or airline at least 48 hours prior to departure so that your details can be passed to the Assistance team.  You can find some very detailed information via the following link.  Links to the airlines are also on this page.

Immigration

For all international travellers you should check entry requirements on the official government site.  In this case it is www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration and you will find details on the ETA scheme there too.

Reclaim

Just follow the signs after immigration and you will come to the baggage reclaim area.  There are boards that you should check for your flight number, and that will indicate which carousel you need to attend.  There are trolleys available in the area.

Customs

There are two channels - green (nothing to declare) and red (items to declare).

Just like immigration you should only rely on the official government information regarding what you can bring into the UK. www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use

Taxis

London City has a taxi rank right outside the terminal.  Any pre-booked cars are normally sent to the short stay car park.

Buses and Coaches Local buses are generally low cost and are mainly for journeys in the immediate vicinity.  Routes 473 and 474 stop at the airport.

Rail and Trams

There is a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station at the airport and it is in zone 3 for daily capping of £9.60.  Trains depart at intervals of between 8 and 15 minutes.  Stops include Canning Town (7 minutes), Woolwich Arsenal (7 minutes), and Stratford International (17 minutes).

This service connects with the Underground at Canning Town (Jubilee line), West Ham (District and Hammersmith & City lines), and Stratford (Central and Jubilee lines).

Canning Town also allows a change to a different branch of the DLR to Tower Gateway where you can walk a short distance to Tower Hill (Circle and District lines).

For any rail bookings, we recommend Trainline. Just click the logo below.
