HND - Tokyo Haneda

The larger of the city's two airports, Haneda is the main base for the country's two largest airlines, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways. It had 78 million passengers in 2023 and its website can be found at www.tokyo-haneda.com/en/

Parking 

It is noted by the airport that car parks are often full at weekends.


There are a number of car parks with P1 and P2 close to Terminal 1, P3 and P4 close to Terminal 2, and P5 close to Terminal 3. All of them have the same fees and are a short walk to the nearest terminal.


P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 - first thirty minutes free, first hour YEN300, 24 hours YEN1530-2140. P2-P4 can be reserved in advance for a YEN1000 fee. P5 can be reserved in advance for a YEN1400 fee. P4 and P5 offer a car washing servive.


P1 and P4 - crowded period fees during Golden Week, Summertime (mid-July to end of August) and New Year (the maximum 24 hour charge shown above).


Drop Off 

All car parks are free for thirty minutes.

Some airlines are now using Face Express where all check-in, baggage drop, security and boarding is done via facial recogniti,on.

Shuttles 

None identified aside from for Terminal Transfers. The Airport Transport Service is sometimes called a shuttle but it is a paid for service into the other areas.

Fixed rates are offered from the airport to Tokyo/Kanagawa but it will vary by company. These include Tokyo Hire Taxi Association and Kanagawa Taxi Association.


At Terminal 3 there is a foreign traveller service called Excellent Taxi as well as Hospitality Taxi, that has English speaking drivers.


Buses and Coaches 

The airport is connected to Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama and other destinations by bus. Tickets should be bought before boarding at either the ticketing counter or machines.


Stops are located at 1F for each terminal.


Terminal 1 - stops 3-7 Airport Transport Service, stop 8 inter-terminal shuttle, stops 9-16 Keikyu bus

Terminal 2 - stops 4-8 Airport Transport Service, stop 9 inter-terminal shuttle, stops 10-17 Keikyu bus

  • Tokyo station - thirty-five minutes, Airport Transport Service or Keikyu Bus (T1 stop 3, T2 stop 4, T3 stop 1)

  • JR Hachioji station - one hour thirty minutes, Airport Transport Service or Nishi Tokyo Bus (T1 stop 3, T2 stop 4, T3 stop 1)

  • Shinjuku station - thirty-five minutes, Airport Transport Service (T1 stop 4, T2 stop 5, T3 stop 3)

  • Tokyo City Air Terminal - thirty-five minutes, Airport Transport Service (T1 stop 6, T2 stop 7, T3 stop 2)

Prices are quite varied but one item to note is the combined tickets from the Airport Transport Service that allows one limousine bus one-way trip and 24-hour subway for YEN2100. Other durations are available.


Rail and Trams 

The airport is directly connected to the Keikyu line and the Tokyo Monorail line.


Keikyu line - coloured red, stops at T1/T2 (KK17) and T3 (KK16), about thirteen minutes to Sinagawa station (YEN327).

Tokyo Monorail line - coloured blue, stops at T1 (MO11), T2 (MO10) and T3 (MO08), about thirteen minutes to Hamamatsucho station (YEN540).


Both of these options offer connections with the much broader network. Typical journeys are as follows.

  • Narita airport one hour forty-five minutes (YEN1783-YEN1819)

  • Shinjuku station - fifty minutes (YEN535)

  • Shibuya station - forty-five minutes (YEN505)

  • Tokyo station - thirty minutes (YEN505)

Terminal Transfer 

There are various ways to travel between the terminals.

Shuttle bus - free, 0423-0132 (T1 to T2), 0432-0132 (T1 to T3), 0428-0128 (T2 to T1 to T3), 0415-0115 (T3 to T1 to T2), departures every thirty minutes 0000-0500, four-minute intervals 0500-2000, six-minute intervals 2000-0000.

  • T2 - 1F Arrival Lobby stop 9

  • T3 - 1F stop 0

Keikyu line/Tokyo Monorail - free, for T1 to T3 or T2 to T3, for domestic to international, international to domestic and international to international NOT domestic to domestic. Tickets from the Information Counters that can be found at T1 B1F, T2 B1F and T3 2F. The Monorail runs about every five minutes and only takes a few minutes to connect to the other terminals.

Passageway - Terminals 1 and 2 are linked by a four hundred metre moving walkway.
