Taxis
Taxis are available at both terminals and the train station. It is about twenty to thirty minutes to Frankfurt city centre.
Buses and Coaches
The bus stop is at Arrival level for Terminal 1, and Level 2 for Terminal 2. Two routes stop at both terminals.
Line 61 - towards Frankfurt South train station (bus stop 15/16 at T1, bus stop Hall E Exit 8 at T2)
Line 62 - towards Schwanheim (bus stop 18 at T1, bus stop Hall E Exit 8 at T2)
There are numerous routes that only connect with Terminal 1. Amongst these is the Airliner - this used to connect to Terminal 2 but no longer does so it is recommended that you head to Terminal 1 and use the free shuttle bus.
Coaches are also available to other towns and cities from Flixbus, Flibco and BlaBlaBus. These all leave from P36, about a five-minute walk to Terminal 1. P36 is also a stop on the internal shuttle bus and that should be used to reach it from Terminal 2.
There is also a service called Lufthansa Airport Bus. It leaves Terminal 1 at "The Square West", close to the long-distance train station. These head to Strassbourg on one service and there is a second service that operates as a shuttle to Heidelberg.
Rail and Trams
The airport has a train station connected to the local network. Trains include the S-Bahn S8, S-Bahn S9 and Regional Express (RE59, RE2 and RE3). This allows for connections to Frankfurt, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, Mainz and Wiesbaden.
The station is below Terminal 1.
There is also a long-distance train station. This is a ten-minute walk from Terminal 1 and can be reached by shuttle bus or Sky Line train from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1. There is a Rail & Fly option that offers discounted rail fares from other parts of Germany if using the airport.
For any rail bookings, we recommend Trainline. Just click the logo below.
Routes
The airport does not publish a destinations list. Frankfurt is a significant hub and base for Lufthansa so the list is extensive.
