Located in New Jersey, this airport is nine miles from New York and considered one of the main three airports serving the city. It saw 49 million passengers in 2023 and its website is www.newarkairport.com/

Parking
There are three main grades of parking at the airport, in four areas.
Short-Term Parking A - at the terminal, $5.25 for thirty minutes, $44 maximum for 24 hours
Short-Term Parking B &C - at the terminal, $5.25 for thirty minutes, $44 maximum for 24 hours
Daily Parking P4 - AirTrain to the terminal, $4.25 for thirty minutes, $38 maximum for 24 hours
Economy Parking P6 - shuttle bus to the terminal (every ten minutes, 24 hours), $25 for first 24 hours
For regular short stays, there is E-ZPass that works as a prepaid charge card.
Drop Off
There is no parking allowed in front of or next to the terminals although the airport site does say the terminal frontage can be used for loading or unloading.
It is recommended that drivers use the parking zones.
In addition, there is a Cell Phone Lot that is less than five minutes from the terminals.
Security
There is limited information on the airport's site, principally just the wait times, that can be accessed via the home page.

Shuttles
The Economy Parking shuttle can be found by following the signs for "Parking P6 Shuttle". The stops at the terminals are at level 1 for all three terminals. Most of the local hotels have shuttles although some incur a fee.

Taxis
The airport advises to avoid unofficial taxi operators.
Official taxis can be found via the Port Authority Welcome Center in each terminal. Staff will be wearing uniforms.
Typical fares include Met Life Stadium $56, Newark $40, Elizabeth $35, Manhattan $60 to $80, La Guardia $110, JFK $110.
Do note there are some supplements for certain routes and times. Tipping is expected for good service.
Buses and Coaches
There are a few bus options from the airport.
NJ Transit Bus - lines 28, 37, 62, 67, 107
Trans-Bridge Lines - towards Philadelphia
Express Bus - 0500-0100, $18 single, $30 return, stops at Grand central Station, Bryant Park, and Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Rail and Trams
The Air Train within the airport connects with NJ Transit and AmTrak services. There is a fee of $8 to reach these other services via Newark Liberty International Airport station. NJ Transit can reach New York Penn station in about thirty minutes with six trains per hour between 0600-2100, four trains per hour 2100-0000.
Amtrak heads to New York and Boston, with trains about hourly.
You can also change at Newark Penn station for routes to Journal Square and World Trade Center via PATH. Heading south from Newark Liberty International Airport station you can reach Trenton via NJ Transit in forty minutes, Philadelphia via Amtrak in seventy minutes and Washington DC via Amtrak in three hours twenty minutes.

Terminal Transfer
The AirTrain starts at Newark Liberty International Airport station (also known as RaiLink Station), where it connects as described in the Rail and Trams section.
From there it takes a route that connects the terminals.
Newark Liberty International Airport station to Terminal C - seven minutes
Terminal C to Terminal B - four minutes
Terminal B to A - nine minutes. Note, that there is then an additional bus to the terminals (five minutes) or a fourteen-minute walk.
AirTrain is free within the airport, departing every three to five minutes from 0500-2300, and every fifteen minutes 2300-0500.
Car Hire
You will find a few companies at the airport.
Level 1 - Dollar, Hertz, Sixt, Thrifty
Level 2 - Alamo, Enterprise, National
Level 3 - Avis, Budget, Payless
The rental area is on levels 1 to 3 on Parking A Access Road, as denoted in the company list above. From Terminals B and C take the Air Train to Terminal A - the rental area is a ten-minute walk from the station. Within Terminal A just follow signs to Rental Cars and Level 2 Mezzanine, walking about seven minutes across the pedestrian bridge.
