BER - Berlin Brandenburg

Opened in 2020, this large airport repurposed parts of Berlin Schonefeld (closed 2020), and replaced Berlin Tegel (closed 2020) as well as Berlin Tempelhof (closed 2008). It also has the name Willy Brandt, after the former Chancellor, and is eleven miles south of the city. It's a base for Eurowings, Ryanair, and easyJet, and it served 23 million passengers in 2023. Parking 

There are a lot of options at the airport. Aside from one, these all sit in a large square in front of Terminal 1.


Forecourt Terminal - outside Terminal 1, aimed at drop-off, free for ten minutes, €5 up to fifteen minutes

Premium Parking P1 - one minute walk to Terminal 1, €5 up to thirty minutes, €70 for 24 hours Premium Parking P2 - two-minute walk to Terminal 1, €5 up to thirty minutes, €70 for 24 hours

Comfort Parking P3 - two-minute walk to Terminal 1, €4 up to thirty minutes, €49 for 24 hours

Car Sharing P4 - for car sharing, pricing unknown

Economy Parking P6 - five-minute walk to Terminal 2, €6 up to sixty minutes, €38 for 24 hours

Comfort Parking P7 - two-minute walk to Terminal 2, €4 up to thirty minutes, €49 for 24 hours

Comfort Parking P8 - two-minute walk to Terminal 2, €4 up to thirty minutes, €49 for 24 hours

Low Budget P107 - shuttle bus required, €3 up to sixty minutes, €24 for 24 hours

Drop Off 

Drop-off (and pick-up) is directly outside Terminal 1. It is free for ten minutes, €5 for up to fifteen minutes.

It is possible to pre-book a timed slot for free. This is called BER Runway and is available in Terminal 1 via Security 4.

There are various food and drink locations at the airport.

Hotels There are two hotels at the airport. Both are a short walk to the terminals.

In the reclaim area check the boards for which carousel you need to attend.

Taxis

Taxis can be found in front of Terminal 1 at the north rank and south rank on level E0. Arriving passengers are dropped off at level E1.


Buses and Coaches 

Bus stops can be found at Terminal 1, with stops A1-8 on the arrivals level.


Express buses (routes X7 and X71) head to Rudow underground station terminus U7, taking fourteen minutes.


Express bus BER2 runs several times a day to Potsdam Central station.


There are also local buses (routes 163, 164, 171, 263, 743 and 744) to various locations. The 263 and 743 are hourly, the other routes are every twenty minutes.


Rail and Trams 

There is a rail station in Terminal 1 on level U2. Various routes connect to Berlin Central station.


  • Airport Express several times per hour to Berlin Central station

  • Regional (RE8, RB22, RB23, RB24 and RB32) several times per hour to Berlin Central station

  • S-Bahn (S9 and S45) every twenty minutes to Berlin Central station

  • Intercity BER T1-2 several times a day to Rostock and Dresden

Terminal Transfer

The two terminals are just a short walk apart.


Car Hire

Service counters can be found on level E0 of Terminal1. Vehicles are then parked in car park P2 (and the same for returns).


You will find desks for Avis/Budget, Hertz, Sixt, Europcar, and Enterprise.
