Fully named as Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, the airport is just under ten miles from Barcelona in the north-east of Spain. It saw 50 million passengers in 2023 and its website is www.aena.es/en/josep-tarradellas-barcelona-el-prat.html

Parking
This is organised by terminal, with some services available for more than one terminal.
Terminal 1 - General T1 (connected to the terminal), Express T1 (aimed at short visits), Premium T1 (direct terminal access, special rate, located on floor 2 of the Northern area (D, E & F) of the General car park), VIP (closest to departures, in effect a valet service), long-stay (advanced booking only, free shuttle to the terminal every twenty minutes 0500-0000 Oct - Mar, 0430-0030 Apr-May, 0430-0100 Jun-Sep, on request for the night hours outside these times)
Terminal 2 - General T2 (short distance to the terminal with spaces opposite sub-terminals T2A, T2B and T2C), Express T2 (aimed at short visits), VIP (closest to departures, in effect a valet service)

Drop Off
For drop-off you should utilise the Express car parks already detailed. Rates are not known but are charged per minute.

Fast track is available for €10.41 at Terminals 1 and 2.

There are lounges in both terminals.
Terminal 1 - Colomer, 0600-2100, Floor 1 in the Barcelona-Madrid corridor, €42.60 (air shuttle passengers only)

Both terminals have taxi ranks and the official taxis are black and yellow. There are stops at the airport as follows.

Buses and Coaches
There are three types of bus and coach service.
Terminal 1 - Airbus A1 - stops at Level 3 Departures and Level 0 Arrivals, heads to the city centre
Terminal 2 - Airbus A2 - stops at Aerobus A2 Stop Terminal 2B, Arrivals T2B, Terminal 2C internal road, heads to the city centre
Both - Line 46 - stops at T1 Level 0 Arrivals, Long Stay Car Park, T2AB, T2B Technical Block, T2C, heads to Placa Espanya
Both - Line 99 - stops at T1 Level 0 Arrivals, Long Stay Car Park, various locations T2, heads to Castelldefels
Both - N16 , N17 and N18 - night bus
Both - Line PR1 - for Renfe rail station
Both - Line PR2 and PR3 - for El Prat de Llobregat rail station
Rail and Trams
The airport has a station located at Terminal 2 Floor.
Line R2 North - towards Macanet-Massanes
There is also a Metro service. There are stations at Terminal 1 Floor 0 and Terminal 2 Floor 0.

Terminal Transfer
It is free to transfer between terminals using rail Line R2 North and Metro Line 9.
These are frequent - 0800-2000 every five minutes, 0500-0800 and 2000-0000 every seven minutes, 0000-0500 every ten minutes.
Transfer times are as follows
Terminal 1 to Terminal 2B and 2C - ten minutes
Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 - fourteen minutes
Terminal 2A to 2B - two minutes on foot
Terminal 2B to 2C - one minute shuttle and five minutes on foot
Car Hire
There are services at both terminals.
Terminal 1 - Avis/Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Goldcar/Inter Rent, Hertz/Thrifty, Record Go, Sixt. All known locations of desks are at Arrivals Floor 1.
Terminal 2 - Avis/Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Firefly, Goldcar/Inter Rent, Hertz/Thrifty, Record Go, Sixt. All known locations of desks are at Terminal 2B Arrivals Floor 0.
