AUH - Abu Dhabi Zayed

This is a the second largest airport in the UAE and is nineteen miles east of the city. It is named after the founder of the country, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It saw 23 million passengers in 2023 and its website is www.zayedinternationalairport.ae/en/

Parking

There is one parking area for Terminal A that starts at AED225 for two to three days up to AED400 for eight to fourteen days.


The car park also offers a short-stay option that charges AED15 for up to fifteen minutes and AED125 for up to twenty-four hours.


Drop Off 

This is available at the terminal and is free for up to five minutes. You can pick up directly outside Arrivals and drop off directly outside Departures.


Security

The airport does not hold any specific security information. Fast Track is available from AED100.


Restaurants and Bars

There are a range of places at the terminal.

There are a couple of lounges on offer.


Diamond - 24 hours, available as part of VIP services, from AED404 (Meet & Greet) or from AED2126 (VIP Meet & Assist)

There are also a few Etihad specific lounges.


Assistance

There is a hotel onsite.


AU Hotel - offers overnight and up to twelve hour stays

Shuttles

There are no identified shuttles within the airport. There is one service that is called a shuttle that is detailed under Buses and Coaches.

Taxis uplift is from the pick-up area at the lower curb side outside the Arrivals hall.


Buses and Coaches 

Local buses offer routes to a number of locations.


A1 - Al Zahiyah (city centre)

A2 - Khalifa Street (city centre)

A10 - MBZ City Bus Station

A15 - Cargo Terminal

A40 - Al Shahama Bus Station

K4 - Khalifa City

N2 - Al Zahiyah (city centre)


Most of the routes run for core daytime hours (about 0600-2300, varies by route) with journey times to central Abu Dhabi around an hour. The N2 route is every twenty minutes and runs through the night.


A separate bus service (called a Shuttle) heads to Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai. The journey is ninety minutes and it departs the airport on the hour, every hour, and also departs the Mall on the hour. It is a twenty-four hour service and is about AED36. This is run by Etihad.


Rail and Trams 

There are no rail services.


Routes 

The airport site does not display a list of destinations. Although smaller than Dubai airport, as a capital city it does link in with a number of long-haul locations as well as being a regional hub.

The rental area is on the Mezzanine level - below Departures and above Arrivals.
